The Greatest Treasure

I Looked at a man who had riches untold,
With houses, and trophies, and silver and gold,

But still he was lonely, and bitter, and sad,
With no one to love him and make his heart glad.

I know that no riches on earth can compare
With knowing the Lord - feeling safe in His care.

For I've found a treasure that money can't buy,
And only God's love can my soul satisfy.

A man with great wealth is the poorest of men,
If he knows not the Lord, and forgiveness of sin.

And when life is ended, and time is no more,
He'll have no safe haven on Heaven's bright shore.

His treasures of earth will all vanish away,
And in outer darkness forever he'll stay.

But if he bows down, and repents of his sin,
And opens his heart for the Lord to come in,

His name will be written in God's book of love,
And forever he'll dwell in God's Heaven above.
