My Creed for Today

I won’t re-live the doubt and fear that caused such pain in yesteryear.
Nor will I dwell on each mistake that brought me sorrow and heartache.

I will not wallow in despair, forgetting friends, neglecting prayer,
Till guilt sidelines me on a shelf, and all my thoughts are on myself.

For Jesus took my sin and shame, when on the cross He bore my blame.
So I must lock away the past, and seek today the things that last.

I will not wait till skies are blue to do what little I can do,
In giving help to those in need, and sharing love in word and deed.

For there is work for me to do, and each day I must start anew,
Rebuilding lives, instilling hope, in those who grieve and cannot cope.

I want to live my life each day to help lost souls to find The Way,
So when I reach my setting sun, I’ll hear my blessed Lord’s "Well done!"
