OUR "IFS" AND GOD'S "BUTS"

IF God hadn't placed every star in the sky, Created the earth, and the sparrows that fly, We couldn't enjoy to beauty we see, And all of the wonders of God's canopy. BUT God, our Creator, had His master plan, When in His own image He breathed life into man. He wanted our love, and our worship and praise, And longed for sweet fellowship all of our days. IF Adam and Eve had obeyed God's command; Not listened to Satan, and clung to God's hand, We wouldn't have death and disease in our world, And all of the evil that sin has unfurled. BUT God in His mercy, compassion and grace, Sent Jesus, His Son, to the cross in our place. The blood that He shed paid the price for our sin, To give us forgiveness, and bring peace within. IF I had not listened, and I had not heard, God's plan of salvation revealed in His Word, I wouldn't have opened my heart to receive God's gift of salvation to all who believe. BUT God heard my prayer, and He dried all my tears, Forgave all my sins, and then calmed all my fears. And when life is over, I'll reach Heaven's shore, Where I will be safe in His arms evermore. IF you are discouraged, and have no more hope, So laden with burdens you think you can't cope, You might think that life is unfair, and unkind, With no one to care, and no help you can find. BUT God is still waiting, with arms open wide, To show you his love, and to cleanse you inside. Accept Him today, and your sins He'll forgive, And some day in Heaven with Him you will live.
