SHOWING HIS LOVE
It seemed each time the church doors opened, he was always there.
His voice would be the first one heard in congregation prayer.
He served on more committees than a lot of other men,
And most would gladly tell you that he did the work of ten.

On Sunday bright and early he would wake up from his rest,
And get his family ready as they donned their Sunday best.
He backed out of his driveway as the neighbors on his street
Were loading up their kids and cars to have their Sunday treat.

They pulled out picnic baskets, beach umbrellas, and sun hats,
Golf clubs, and sun tan lotion, and Pop Warner balls and bats.
He felt he was above them – his priorities were straight,
And they should dread the day they meet the Lord and learn their fate.

Yet never once did he become their friend or show he cared,
And never with them was the love of Jesus ever shared.
The Lord above knows every heart, and judges every one,
And He alone remembers all the tasks we’ve left undone.

But if we truly love our neighbors as He bids us do,
We’ll share our faith, and gently lead them to accept Him too.
