TWO FRIENDS


A precious friend has gone to meet the Lord he loves so much.
His pain and suffering have ceased, and he has felt the touch

Of Angel hands, who ushered him into his home above,
Where joyfully he was enclasped by God’s great arms of love.

It wasn’t just the good he did in life’s short days on earth,
Or how he labored faithfully, that spoke of his true worth;

But it was that he put his faith in Christ, and asked Him in,
To give to him eternal life, and cleanse his heart from sin.

My heart was sad to say goodbye to yet another friend.
Though many told him of the Lord before his life would end,

And many prayed he would repent and give the Lord his heart,
He chose to trust his own good works, and live from Christ apart,

Until he died, without the Lord to pay his price for sin,
When all he could look forward to was Hell’s fires to begin.

Two friends I loved have left this life, but one I’ll see some day
Because we both have asked the Lord to wash our sins away.

If you have not received the gift Christ wants to give to you,
I pray you’ll stop and do it now before this day is through.
