TO DADDY’S LITTLE GIRL ON FATHER’S DAY

This Father’s Day please know that though I’m with my Lord above,
My spirit will be there with you, as well as all my love.

I loved you as a precious baby sent by God to earth,
For you were very special from the moment of your birth.

You always made me happy with your sweet and winning ways.
I thought that I would be there to protect you all your days.

I planned to watch you as you grew in beauty and in grace,
And at your Graduation I would search for your dear face.

Then someday when you pledged your love, and you became a bride,
I planned to walk the aisle with you and be there by your side.

But God had other plans for us, and though my body’s gone,
My spirit still is there with you, and it will linger on.

Whenever you look up at night and see the starlit sky,
Remember that my love for you is hov’ring right close by.

And when you see the beauty of a flower or stately tree,
Let them remind you of my love as you remember me.

And know that I’ll await the day when someday we will be,
Together with our blessed Lord for all eternity.
