"ARE YOU JESUS?"

I heard about a man who stopped to do a kindly deed,
When "Are you Jesus?" he was asked by a small boy.
For no one else had seemed to care, or lend a helping hand,
And only Jesus, thought the child, could bring such joy.

As we who love our Jesus go about our daily tasks,
Do things we do make people feel the Savior’s love?
Because our actions speak to them much louder than our words,
Would they want what we have – eternal life above?

I wonder if the things I do, and also what I say
Would ever cause someone to see Christ’s love in me?
I wonder if my presence at the sickbed of a friend
Would bring the peace of Jesus that my friend could see?

I’m sure I’ll never be mistaken for my precious Lord,
And all my flaws are much too readily in view,
But maybe, just perhaps, you’ll chance to look inside my heart,
And see how much I long to share Christ’s love with you.
