TRUE JOY IN CHRIST

The world can never understand
How things that should annoy,
And cause unhappiness and grief,
Can bring a Christian joy.

But in God's wise and perfect plan,
He's working for our good,
And giving total peace through trials
We've never understood.

While others fret their way through life,
Till drawing their last breath,
The Christian knows that joy awaits,
For Christ has conquered death.

And even persecution can't
Destroy the peace we feel
When Jesus wraps us in His arms,
And loves us as we heal.

The more we linger in His Word,
And talk to Him in prayer,
The more His joy will fill our hearts,
And banish all our care.

No matter what the circumstance,
Though sad the day and long,
The Lord provides the ransomed soul
A thankful, joy-filled song.

So look for joy in every day;
It's there for you to claim.
For nothing can surpass the joy
That's found in Christ's dear Name.
