~ GOOD INTENTIONS ~

He wanted to be a good husband;
She wanted to be a good wife.
But they both were strong willed,
And their marriage was filled
With much fighting, and clashes, and strife.

He wanted to be called successful;
She wanted to have peoples' praise.
So they hung out in bars,
And they bought fancy cars,
And they followed the world and its ways.

He wanted to be a good father;
She wanted her kids to obey.
But children are prone
To do what they're shown,
And their parents had led them astray.

They both suffered pain from their children,
And wondered how they could have known
That examples they'd set
Soon would cause such regret,
As they reaped all the seeds they had sown.
