A CHILD-LIKE FAITH

A CHILD-LIKE FAITH

Oh Lord, how I long for the faith of a child,
A faith that has not by the world been defiled.

Please help me not question the things You have planned,
With heartaches and trials I can’t understand.

I’m tempted to doubt, and I’m tempted to stray,
And I’m tempted to question the things that You say.

But I’ve watched little children who truly believe
That the things they have prayed for they’ll surely receive.

They love You, and call You their very best friend,
And they haven’t a doubt that Your blessings You’ll send.

So Lord, give me faith like a child when I pray,
So I’ll trust You with love ‘til You call me away.
