AS I WAIT
I wait in a line when I’m driving, and can’t seem to get far ahead,
Because every light that I come to, is bound to change color to red.

I wait for my Doctor’s appointment, and when I arrive there, I find
That my Doctor is having some problems, and is running two hours behind.

I wait for reports on some lab work, or some tests I’ve been worried about,
But they never arrive when they’re promised, so I suffer frustration and doubt.

I wait for my car to be serviced. I wait for a check to come through.
I wait in a line to buy groceries. I wait ‘til retirement is due.

But the thing I most anxiously wait for, is the Lord’s soon return for His own.
We will rise in a cloud up to Heaven, and
worship our Lord round His throne.

If you haven’t yet claimed His salvation, and asked His forgiveness from sin,
I pray you won’t wait one more minute, to be sure you’ve invited Him in.

Oh what joy we will share up in Heaven, when our earth days of waiting are done!
We’ll join the glad songs of the Angels, and be welcomed by God’s own dear Son!
