A SACRED DUTY

That little child you're holding, Dad, who looks so much like you,
Was sent to be a blessing, but a sacred duty too.
He'll look to you for guidance as you teach him day by day,
And he will try to copy everything you do and say.

The words you use will be his words, your faults he'll duplicate,
But all the Christlike things you do, he'll try to emulate.
Oh guard that precious little life, and watch the things you do,
So you'll be proud to have a son who'll someday be like you!
