WHAT CAN I DO?

I look at all the wondrous things great men on earth have done,
That make me feel so insignificant and small.
They've bravely conquered space and time with their heroic deeds,
While everything I've done seems not to count at all.

It might be really easy just to sink into despair,
And reason there is nothing left for me to do
So I can make my world a better place in which to live,
And be assured I've done my best when life is through.

But there are many hurting souls who need love I can give,
And long to have a friend who's there to lend a hand;
To listen to their problems, and to help them bear their loads,
Someone to empathize, and truly understand.

So even though I'll never know a life of fame and wealth,
And not one history book will ever list my name,
If I can share the love of Christ, and bring one soul to Him,
I'll sleep in peace, and know--I haven't lived in vain.
